Goodwood Bowling Club’s superstar ladies once again demonstrated their strength, skill, and competitive spirit with an outstanding showing at the recent WP Masters. Playing in the Open section at WPCC, they competed against the finest players in the district in this invitational event, which is the highlight of the WP Bowls calendar.

Leading the charge was Anneke Scheepers, whose exceptional performance earned her the coveted gold medal and her 4th WP Masters title. With these 4 golds, alongside two bronzes, Anneke has medalled in each of the 6 Masters she has played in. Displaying remarkable consistency and composure throughout the tournament, she outplayed a strong field of competitors to claim the top spot and remained unbeaten throughout. Her victory stands as a testament to her dedication and the countless hours she has invested in honing her craft.

Not far behind was Claire Cowan, who secured a well deserved silver medal. Her journey to the finals was marked by determination, overcoming tough opponents along the way and only dropping one game before the final. Her silver medal is a testament to how she shines come Masters time.

Adding to the club’s success, Mo Louw took home the bronze medal in a tightly contested “bronze playoff game” in the section, against Ananda Kotzé. It was a very close game with Mo pipping Ananda 21-20 and snatching bronze.

This remarkable medal haul reflects and showcases the strength of the ladies game within Goodwood Bowling Club, and their success at the WP Masters is an inspiration to fellow members.

Goodwood BC was also represented by Ferdi Alves in the Open Men (5th in section), Megan Ferreira in the Open Ladies (5th in section), and Jordané Castle in the Development Ladies (4th in section). Being invited to play in the Masters is a great achievement, and we are also proud of your representation.
